About The Evening

Settle into the festive season with an intimate dinner at Brasserie Boulevard , one of Covent Garden’s most charming French restaurants. Enjoy a three-course menu of classic Parisian flavours and drinks before we make our way to the Royal Opera House for a stirring performance of Ariodante, a Baroque masterpiece filled with passion, honour and betrayal.

Members may join for the full evening (dinner + opera) or opt to attend the opera alone. Those attending only the performance will meet the group directly at the Royal Opera House at 6:15 PM, so we can take our seats in the box together before the 6:30pm performance start time.

About The Play

Handel’s Ariodante is a baroque drama full of love, deception and courtly intrigue. When Ginevra, daughter of the King of Scotland, is falsely accused of infidelity, her world and her engagement to the noble Ariodante unravels overnight. What follows is a chain of jealousy, political plotting and emotional unravelling as the truth fights its way to the surface.

This new Royal Opera House production brings the story to life with vivid staging and a world-class cast, including Emily D’Angelo and Jacquelyn Stucker. Expect soaring arias, sharp storytelling and one of Handel’s most moving musical scores, a perfect winter evening for opera lovers and newcomers alike.
