Join fellow Minerva members for an afternoon at the Royal Academy of Arts as we escape to the Mediterranean through Painting the French Riviera.
The exhibition explores the artists drawn to the Côte d’Azur and the extraordinary role the French Riviera played in the development of modern art. From sun-drenched landscapes and brilliant Mediterranean colour to experiments in abstraction, we’ll discover how generations of artists responded to one of Europe’s most celebrated coastlines.
Featuring artists including Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso and Yves Klein, the exhibition traces almost a century of artistic experimentation on the Riviera.
We’ll explore the exhibition together at the Royal Academy for a relaxed afternoon of art and conversation.
